New Game Reviews

The holidays are fast approaching. So, I will be reviewing some of what we consider to be the best educational and fun children's games around. Of course you will be able to purchase these games through my online store: http://www.mykidzgotstyle.com/.

Here's a fun game from the manufacturer, Find It Games. Find It At the Zoo features yellow end caps and 39 animals. Can you find the giraffe, duck, rhinoceros, whale, elephant or eagle in this self-contained scavenger hunt? And, yes, the hard-to-find penny is still hidden in every Find It game. Whether you’re 8 or 98, it will be a hard game to put away. Play Find It At the Zoo in your home, car or office. Includes Find It At the Zoo game and a check off pad. For one or more players, age eight through 98.

Another game you might want to try is Baffle Gab. Nothing gets more laughs than a great, kid-written tale. Baffle Gab™ inspires kids of all ages to put their imagination on paper.Baffle Gab™ is fun for kids and families of all ages, and has been heralded by The National Parenting Center for being a great family activity. Pressed for time? Baffle Gab™ can be played for 2 minutes or 2 hours. It is fun for any number of players, from solo play to 10!Parents and educators alike love Baffle Gab™!Fun for the family, educational for the kids, great for everyone! Kids improve their vocabulary and grammar (even some math) without knowing that they’re learning – all they have to do is have fun. Great for teachers to use in class or as a complement to other classroom exercises. It makes writers and readers out of non-writers and readers. Learning is fun, and fun is learning.

Are you good at unscrambling words. Well, here's the perfect game to test your skills. This exciting word game is from the manufacturer, Karmel Games. This clever game is one of the most highly acclaimed board games of recent years, and is the winner of 10 prestigious awards. The Chicago Tribune newspaper picked it as one of its 'Cool' games of 2005; and in 2006, Better Homes and Gardens magazine selected it for inclusion in their Holiday Gift Guide as one of the 4 best games of the year. Anagramania is currently available in two Editions - 'Junior' for 8-12 year-olds, and 'Intermediate' for teens and adults. The game challenges you to solve clues - but with a unique twist! The answer to each clue must be a single-word anagram made from one or more highlighted words embedded in the clue.

Here's an example from the Junior Edition: She felt it just wasn't right

Something that isn't right could be 'wrong', 'incorrect', 'left', etc. However, the correct answer is 'left', because it alone is an anagram of the highlighted word 'felt'.

Got it? OK, try this clue from the Intermediate Edition: He took a sea trip and ran into some marine plunderers

Go to http://www.mykidzgotstyle.com/ to purchase the game for the answer.^_^

Give these games a try. Then post your thoughts. We love feedback.

This game allows kids to think and write creatively while having a great time! It also expands their vocabulary. My nephew, who is usually not interested in writing, had a blast and learned countless new words. A real gem. Similar to Apples to Apples only Baffle Gab is much less limited. A WINNER!
